10/02/08 The weekend of the 8th and 9th February 2008 saw the first Ilkley Beer Festival. Stewert Ross, Chairman of Ilkley & District Round Table said, "The event was a huge success and we would like to thank Dickie Bird for opening the festival as well as all those who volunteered their help over the weekend". Over 1700 people visited the festival and an incredible £15,000 was raised for local charities. 95 different beers, ciders and perrys were available and over 8500 pints were served. Stewert went on to say, "In particular, I'd like to thank Ison Harrison Solicitors, together with all the other sponsors; without their generous support, the event would not have been possible". The first weekend in February has been booked for the 2009 festival. 05/02/08
Friday is completely sold out, there are however a few tickets still available for the Saturday afternoon session and these are available exclusively from Bar t’at, found at 7 Cunliffe Road, Ilkley. Subject to beer supplies, there is a small chance that admission will be possible 'on the door' for the Saturday evening session. If you haven’t managed to get any tickets or can’t make it on Saturday afternoon, by all means drop by on Saturday evening (not Friday), but please don’t take offence if we’ve sold out of beer! 18/04/07 All proceeds will go to local good causes and the event will replace the Ilkley Fun Run which, for nearly a quarter of a century, had been Round Table's main fund raising event. It is hoped that the beer festival will raise in the region of £15,000. The festival has the full support of Bradford Council and the Bradford branch of The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and it is hoped will become an important annual event, with real ale enthusiasts travelling to Ilkley from all over the country. Entry to the Ilkley Beer Festival will by ticket at a cost of £5 per person. This will include a commemorative festival pint glass, programme and your first pint. Because of licensing rules numbers will be by limited, to avoid disappointment we recommend that you purchase your tickets in good time from one of the official outlets.
