It’s Back! The third Ilkley Beer festival takes place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th February 2010 at its home the King’s Hall, Ilkley. All proceeds from the event organised by Ilkley and District Round Table go to local good causes. Richard Sherington, Round Table Chairman said “ We’re really looking forward to this year. The Beer Festival has been fantastic for the last 2 years and this third year will be the same we’re sure. We want to improve on the £17000 we raised last year” This year’s event will improve on the last by offering over 130 beers, ciders, perrys and foreign bottled beers. Matching last year’s attendance of almost 2500 people will be tricky however; “We expect to be very busy for all three public sessions whilst the sponsor’s event continues to go from strength to strength. The King’s Hall/Winter Gardens complex is perfect for the festival so we don’t mind that we are a little limited by it’s capacity” said Sherington. This year’s festival will give residents and visitors to Ilkley the opportunity to try beers from all over the UK . There will be 4 brewery bars from local brewers Gooseye, Salamander, Old Bear and the new Ilkley Brewery Co. The musical intermissions at each of the three sessions are back by popular demand and food will once again be provided by award winning local butcher Lishman’s. “It’s chiefly because of our very generous sponsors that we can give the great drinking public an even better event at the same prices as last year. The festival has been made possible through sponsorship from a wide range of businesses based in the region. Ilkley Round Table are thrilled that for the 3rd year, the lead sponsor of the event is Leeds based solicitor’s Ison Harrison.” Tickets will be on sale from the 1st December at a cost of £5 to include a commemorative festival pint glass and programme. Tickets are available from Bar t’at in Ilkley; Junction in Otley; The Junction in Baildon; The Narrow Boat in Skipton; and Coopers in Guiseley. Remember to keep checking this website for further updates including ticket information and, of course, the beer list!
